Healing Human Touch

When I was a kid whenever I got hurt my mom used to kiss me and it healed. I never understood the concept but it worked somehow. In today’s world where there is too much work, stress, unhealthy eating, sedentary lifestyle there been ever-increasing medical conditions. Modern medicine has answers to a few of them but for many of them, the solution is to have a bag full of drugs for a lifetime, which alleviates symptoms but in long run, they come for a price and adverse effects to other organs. My question is that is there only one solution to a problem?

In my opinion, there are many ways to come about the solution but we have stopped looking, we are forgetting our traditional healing techniques or we are not aware of them as our mainstream media doesn’t highlight these healing techniques. For better healthcare in the future, we have to stop thinking through categories and start to see the bigger picture, the integration of Modern medicine and traditional healing can be one of the answers for better healthcare of the society.

Earlier my Idea about traditional healing by human touch was very limited and abstract until I came across research by James L. Oschman, Ph.D. a leading pioneer on the scientific understanding of hands On healing like Reiki, acupressure, Energy Healing. The application of Human Energy Field( HEF) is been used in modern medicine too for years now. The first HEF to be well documented was the field of the heart, the research leads to the electrocardiogram (ECG) by Einthoven for which he won Nobel prize in 1924. Then there was an electric field of the brain measured by an electroencephalogram.

To understand Human Energy Field, there is a fundamental law in physics Ampere law, that says that when currents flow through conductors such as wires or living tissues, the magnetic field must be produced in the surrounding tissue. since living tissue are conductors of electricity the well-established laws of physics require that the current set up by the heart, other muscles, the brain, and peripheral nerves, will produce electromagnetic fields in the space around the body. These are called biomagnetic fields. These fields have already been measured by Nobel Laureate Brian Josephson at Cambridge, he developed a very sensitive magnetometer called SQUID ( Superconducting Quantum Interference Device ) to measure these fields.

Mainstream Medicine also uses these very low-frequency magnetic fields by use of a device known as PEMF( Pulsing Electromagnetic field Therapy. The PEMF is used for Bone Healing, research showed that certain magnetic fields can jump-start the healing process in fractures that have failed to unite even as long as for forty years. The important frequencies for stimulation of tissue repair are all in biologically important extremely low frequency (ELF) range.

  1. a) 2 Hz for Nerve Regeneration.
  2. b) 7 Hz for Bone growth.
  3. c) 10 Hz for ligaments.
  4. d) 15 Hz for the capillary formation and decreased skin Necrosis.

What is important about all this is evidence that practitioners of various hands-on and hands-off therapies such as Reiki, Acupressure, Aura Balancing, Bowen, Cranial Sacral, Structural Integration(Rofling), Healing Touch, Polarity Therapy, Massage, Zero Balancing, can emit these Extra-low frequencies from their hands. can relax the body and stimulate the healing process in the body.

At last, I now know why my Mom kissed me and how I got healed. Thank you, Mom, for that Healing Human touch.

  1. Let the modern medicine transcend conventional logics of reason. Let the practice of healing be expanded through diverse cosmologies. Great thought process indeed.

  2. Excellent ideas of healing without modern technology. Medicines do little good and more harm in long run…..we should always be looking for alternatives to better our lifestyle….
